Bullying is the use of superior strength or influence to intimidate someone; typically to force him or her to do what one wants. Schools should be required to implement bullying awareness programs. The implementation of these programs can help bullies realize the effects that their actions have on their peers and provide them with guidance to become a better person in the future. The school should take it a step further and have the parents read and sign the handbook as well. This will allow the parent and child to read the school policies together and understand what is expected of them in the school community.
