Isn’t it amazing how humans throughout the centuries have clung to their ambitions and accomplished amazing feats? Surely it must be. However, what happens when someone clings to their blind ambitions? This problematic characteristic has wedged its way into humanity for many, many years. Why, even in Macbeth it’s a common theme that somehow relates to our modern society. Three prime examples of people who have blind ambitions are: Christy Clark, a British Columbian politician, Hillary Clinton, and the entirety of the U.S. government. No, you’re not seeing that wrong. All three of the above mentioned are victims of blind ambition, and, like Macbeth, it’s likely they won’t realize it until it’s too late. He even killed his loyal companion, Banquo, to prevent him from gaining the title as â€Å"King†. Now, she may not have murdered anyone, but Christy Clark sure isn’t that far off from Macbeth in the department of manipulation and lies. In 2016, Clark was accused of manipulating ethnic groups to earn their votes. She was also accused of disregarding public rules and regulations to get what she wanted, which was in turn, money and votes for her Liberal party. She so desperately wanted the votes and money for her party, that she didn’t pay any mind to what the public may think of her afterwards. Truly, she was a victim of blind ambition. As popular as power and money may seem when it comes to those with blind ambitions, they’re not always the cause to the effect. Sometimes it could be as simple as someone wanting to keep up their image. Hillary Clinton, for example, was involved in a scandal not long ago where she was accused of using a private server to send classified e-mails. In order to keep up her image, she lied. Later on, however, she confessed and apologized. Regardless of her apology, the fact that she denied the accusation to keep her image fresh, dropped her popularity with the people.
